Equara is investing across asset classes seeking long term, sustainable returns.

The backbone of the current holdings are private investments in Promasidor and Clasado, along with liquid investments primarily in global equity markets. Whilst maintaining and indeed adding significant investment in these core holdings, Equara is also building further alternative allocations to Real Estate, Venture Capital, Private Equity and Private Credit.

Liquid Investments

Equara has a diversified and unconstrained portfolio in liquid global markets, with an emphasis on long term capital appreciation.
We have an in-house asset allocation framework which we seek to then implement in the markets via top performing active managers, as well as passive vehicles.
Equara is looking to add further managers to our portfolio, as well as direct investments in particularly high conviction opportunities.

Real Estate

Equara looks to partner with Real Estate GPs with specific expertise in a geography, sector or asset type, and who raise funding on a deal-by-deal basis.
We have begun deploying capital with a focus on Multifamily, Industrial and Office in the US and Europe, with a mixture of Core+, Value-add and Development investments.
We are continuing to build our Real Estate portfolio aggressively in 2022.

Venture Capital & Private Equity

Equara’s core assets in Promasidor and Clasado have been the backbone of the group for many years. We seek to leverage this knowledge in the Food and Beverage and Healthcare sectors as we build out additional private company holdings.
We have also begun investing in funds with particular expertise in investing in early-stage businesses with disruptive technologies and novel products.
Equara is seeking to expand its VC and PE fund holdings, as well as build out a co-invest and direct investment program.

Private Credit

Whilst yet to make a meaningful allocation in this asset class, Equara sees significant opportunity in Private Credit as a source of yield, and in some cases uncorrelated returns.
We are looking to make investments in funds doing direct lending to sponsored and non-sponsored businesses, as well as real estate and infrastructure backed senior and mezzanine debt.
We are also exploring opportunities in uncorrelated private debt opportunities such as litigation financing and healthcare royalties.

Private Equity

Equara holds a majority stake in Promasidor, a pan-African food and beverage group with annual sales in excess of $850m. Promasidor supplies over 30 African countries with affordable food products and has been the cornerstone investment of the group for over 40 years.

Equara holds a majority stake in Clasado, a leading innovator in the field of galactooligosaccharide (GOS) technology, working in partnership with brands to deliver clinically proven prebiotic solutions to improve human health.
